Show Sub-for-Santa needs help Dear Mr. Wallis: As the birthday of Christ approaches, we pause to consider how we can best celebrate His birthday. As always, He has given us the clue. He said, "In as much as ye have done it unto the least of these my bretheren, Ye have done it unto me." With this message in mind, your Sub-for-Santa committee has planned some fun activities to involve as many people as would like to help. Boxes for non-perishable non-perishable holiday food have been placed in the grade schools. We invite your children to experience the joy of giving by bringing his gift of food to school. The Vernal Jr. High has made some exciting plans to provide food baskets and a gift for our senior citizens. Uintah High School home rooms are each sponsoring a family, and we invite each student to get excited ex-cited and provide a special gift for a special person in their assigned family. I hear one very popular boy and girl say that the happiest part of Christmas for them was choosing a gift for someone they didn't even know. If you, your family, your club, or church or business would like to help a mother whose income doesn't stretch far enough for fun things, or a father ... whose . health doesn't permit him to work at his full potential, please call 789-5850. Last year we discovered that some families received no Christmas because we didn't know who they were. If you need help or know someone who does, please call 789-5850 and let us know. We invite you to make this your happiest Christmas ever by including in your Christmas plans a real birthday gift for Jesus. We thank you for your help with Christmases past and wish you the happiest Christmas ever. Sincerely, Your Sub-For -Santa Committee CLIFTA L. PURCELL, Chairman |
