Show Ntl. wildlife week observed . "Save A Place For Wildlife" is the theme for this year's National Wildlife Week. The dates of the 43rd annual observance sponsored by the National Wildlife Federation is March 16-22 The theme is another way of phrasing a basic fact wildlife cannot survive unless habitat survives. Many things affect the natural environment, and people must maintain their active concern for wildlife and work to protect wildlife habitat. LaVar Ware, chief of communications com-munications for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, says this program is an excellent opportunity for educators to contribute to the conservation con-servation effort and to point out the need for sound wildlife management in Utah. The state affiliate of the federation, Utah Wildlife and Outdoor Recreation Federation, has distributed several thousand educational packets to all school district offices across the state. The packets contain a poster, teacher's guide with involvement games, discussion topics, word games and other approaches to the theme. "&ave A Place For Wildlife" has also been the theme for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources for the past two years. |
