Show yy by Corey W. Grua Public Info. Chairman, Lljintah Co. Unit Amer. Cancer Socr Contributions from businesses QUESTION: Do businesses have the opportunity to contribute to the American Cancer Society? ANSWER: You bet! This is the best month to do just that. A few weeks back we received a phone call from Mountain Moun-tain Fuel Supply. They asked my wife if they could send the ACS a check. We're not involved in the business drive but we did forward the check to Sandie Madsen, our unit president. In talking with Renee Shiner the other night, I learned that a business drive is currently being directed by Veda Hatch and several other volunteers. volun-teers. Veda is also our current chairperson chair-person for the Reach to Recovery program. Dentists, lawyers and physicians are being contacted by Linda Shimmin. Next month the residential drive begins and Renee Shiner is already in the process of training the volunteers that will be working in this area. The fight against cancer takes an effort from all of us. Traditionally, the business community has done its part to provide the needed money. We salute Vernal's generous merchants. |
