Show Meeting of DUP Camp Ft. Thornburg MAKSER SPECIAL-Camp Ft. Thornburg met at the home of Daughter Reva McKee March 13, for their meeting. Captain Theo Lind conducted, con-ducted, invocation was by Flora M. Hall, singing was led by Anna Oldham, "Sunshine In My Soul". Pledge to the flag was lead by Merle Oaks, several members were excused due to sickness. Minutes were read by Lucille Rich and approved, roll call and minutes were taken by her of this meeting. Betty Bowden continued reading the history of John Tiddwell, a great grandfather. "The Quilting Party" was sung. Lesson was given by Elya McCamey on Locality Locali-ty History. This chapter related events in the lives of John Davidson Burt and Elizabeth Patterson Burt, early settlers who devoted years in helping to build this western section of the United States. Their lives were filled with excitement, ex-citement, drama, struggles and accomplishments. ac-complishments. They were devoted to country, family and spiritual beliefs. Hostess served a dessert luncheon to twelve members. Lucille Rich won the , door prize. |
