T V 7 ...... ,3 ' - - K, CHAD SLAUGH I , i - "' i r f t v : MARK HOLMES Three Uintah High School students will share honors at the upcoming state FFA convention being held at BYU March 24 and 25. Julie Gardner, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Gardner of Vernal, has been chosen by the Uintah Chapter to represent them in the FFA Sweetheart contest which is held in conjunction with the convention. Julie is a senior and a member of the student council at Uintah. She is very talented and likes to sing and play the guitar. Chad Slaugh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wade Slaugh of Jensen, is to represent Uintah in the state FFA oratory speaking contest. He won over four schools at the district meet held March 6. His eight minute speech is entitled, "A Look at the Future for Future Farmers." Chad is a senior, a 3 year member of the FFA, an outstanding student and also is a member of the parliamentary procedure team. Mark Holmes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Duane Holmes of Vernal, will represent Uintah at the state convention in ex-temporary ex-temporary speaking. He placed first in extemporary speaking at the district meet held at Uintah. Mark is a senior, a member of the FFA, and has participated in the extemporary ex-temporary speaking contest for the last two years. Also attending the state convention will be old and new officers. |
