Show Christmas in Moab Success Noted Outgoing president Keith Peterson of the Moab Mo-ab Chamber of Commerce commented on the success suc-cess of the Annual Christmas Christ-mas in Moab campaign which was started Saturday Satur-day in Moab. The lack of some needed need-ed floats and marching groups was noted along with the lack of interest of others. The members of the Chamber commented commen-ted on the results and forecast a successful promotion. Over 875 children chil-dren were treated to candy can-dy by Santa at the City Building on Saturday. The drawing for the grand prize of a color TV will be held on the 22nd of December at 5 p.m. at the City Building. Build-ing. Other prizes will be awarded by individual business concerns in the city and the BPW Club of Moab will also present a cedar chest to a lucky person. Retail merchants in Moab will remain open until 7 p.m. starting Dec. 17 and also on Sundays starting on the 16th and the 23rd. A Christmas film sponsored spon-sored by the Southeastern Utah Fine Arts Guild will be presented on two nights, Dec. 21 and 22 at the St. Francis Episcopal Epis-copal Church. The starting start-ing time will be 7 p.m. and a discount price will be given to Guild members. mem-bers. The annual installation dinner for new officers was held on Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. with new officers of the Chamber installed. The new president will be Dixie Barker, with Dean Olsen as vice-president & Judy Carmichael remaining as treasurer. Jackie Hards is secretary. |
