V :J It' yal Castl Choi i The marching Devilettes of Grand County High School again staged a sensational half-time marching performance at the opening game of the season in Moab. The girls have marched at all home games during the season and give added sudh c-to c-to the cheering section. The Pep Band was also 'sM hand to further add to the cause. Attendance 1 the first home game was good. at Haf: Devils Defeat Delta for 1st Season VJm r The Moab Red Devils, Dev-ils, playing sloppy against ag-ainst a sloppy opponent, defeated Delta, Colorado on their home court Friday Fri-day in Moab. The Devils out-fought the Panthers throughout the entire game to earn a 12 point decision at 67-55. Although Al-though the score was fairly high, both teams could have had at least 20 more points had they hit good percentage of shots. The Devils started three juniors and two seniors sen-iors in their first game at home for the season with Mark Marksberry, Jeff Cathey and Bo Johnson John-son the juniors and Stan Baker and Jerry Cowan starting as seniors. Jeff Cathey started the scoring off after a slow beginning with 2 points and Cowan hit for the Devils De-vils follow ing three points scored by Delta on free throw s. Cathey and Cowan again hit followed by Wal-tersheid. Wal-tersheid. Johnson. Roberts Rob-erts and Marksberry during dur-ing the first quarter. The Devils led at the end of the quarter 16-8 but were forced to make too many fouls and bad passes by the Delta one press. Delta hit on numerous foul shots as the Devils forc ed them to shoot from outside. During the first quarter, Moab committed eight fouls to Delta's two. Coach Ford experimented ex-perimented with numerous nume-rous combinations and all players saw action, including in-cluding Donnie Knowles. Mike Adkison, Kenny Roberts, Ro-berts, and Marl.vn Wyatt. The Devils stretched their lead to 52-39 at the end of the third quarter and ended at 67-55 at ihe final buer.
