Show 1 - V J . " J l . Services Held Wednesday for Larry Murphy Larry Phillip Murphy, 32, died Dec. I, at his home in Moab. Born May 10, 1941 in Moab to Felix Fe-lix G. Murphy and Mrs. David (Flora) Perkins, he grew up in Moab and attended at-tended Grand County schools. sch-ools. He was married Aug. 1, 19G4 to Carol Norris, and has a son Felix Joe Murphy, 8, now living in Shirley Basin, Wyo. Be served in the military mi-litary service, mostof his time in Korea. He was an expert carbine marksman and received a good conduct con-duct medal and letter of commendation. He drove and maintained heavy equipment while in Korea, Kor-ea, and was honorably discharged. Larry Murphy was injured in-jured in an industrial accident ac-cident seven years ago. Since the injury he spent most of his time in and out of hospitals in Salt Lake City, Grand Junction, Junc-tion, Moab, and recently in Wisconsin. He graduated grad-uated during his stay in the Wisconsin hospital, after taking schooling there. He was a great out-doorsman, out-doorsman, and in spite of being handicapped and confined to a wheelchair, he managed to go hunting, hunt-ing, fishing and out enjoying en-joying nature. He loved the red hills of Moab and the LaSal Mountains. Survivors include his parents, son, sisters, Mrs. Edward (Violet) Kostelny, Show Low, Az., Mrs. June (Emilee) Curtis, Cur-tis, Craig, Co.; Mrs. William Wil-liam (Sandi) Roedell, and Miss Tanya Murphy, both Moab; Mrs. Larry (Con- nie) Skelton, Tooele, and Mrs. Francisco (Mary) Torres, Phoenix. Brothers Broth-ers are Felix Joe Murphy, Mur-phy, Rathburn, Idaho; Dave Perking, OilDeal, Calif.; and Tom Perkins, Germany. Services were held at the Community Baptist Church Wednesday, the Rev. Emil M. Balla officiating. of-ficiating. Burial, under direction of Grand Valley Val-ley Mortuary, was in the Grand Valley Cemetery. -i |
