Show Meteor Show . To Repeat If anyone saw the celestial show that was to have been staged Mon-'day Mon-'day night by the Giacobinid meteors, me-teors, please notify The Telegram astronomer. He got sleepy about 11 :S9 p. m. Tuesday and dozed off. The show was to have begun at midnight and lasted for some time. Nor was The Telegram astronomer astrono-mer able to locate anyone else who stayed awake. J. Cecil Alter, chief meteorologist of the federal weather weath-er bureau here (nothing to do with meteors), said he went to sleep about 10 p. m., and Junius J. Hayes, astronomer at the University Univer-sity of Utah, shamefacedly confessed con-fessed he did the same. Anyway, the meteors are slated to put in another appearance on Wednesday midnight in the northern north-ern sky. Maybe someone will stay up. This year's display, according to eastern astronomers. Is the first since 1933. |
