The ceremony took place in St, Mark's cathedral Monday evening and was followed fol-lowed by a reception at the Hyrum J. Jensen home, 2730 Highland High-land drive. Pauline Smith Becomes Bride of Jack Peterson At All White Wedding at St. Ma rk's It was an all-white wedding white for the bride, her attendants, the flower girl and rlngbearer when Miss L. Pauline Smith was married mar-ried on Monday evening to John H. (Jack) Peterson In St. Mark's Episcopal cathedral. As the "Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin was plsyed, the bridal party proceeded to the altar, which was decorated with pure white gladioli and Japanese Japa-nese chrysanthemums and lighted by white cathedral tapers. The bride, who was given In marriage by her father, T. O. Smith, 724 Seventh East street, wss f rocked In whits lace made with a sweetheart neckline, long pointed sleeves and full skirt entrain. Her double veil of white tulle was caught to her head with a halo of white satin and shirred net, and she carried a bouquet of of their Bodices extended from the waistllns to the neck. Inserts of lace trimmed the skirts and they wore lace mitts. Miss Ethel Smith of Oakland. Cel., sister of the bride and maid of honor, wore a tiny pillbox hat of fuchsia-colored flowers and her bouquet was made up of (lowers to mstch. The attending matron, Mrs. Yvonne Carlston Fiehn. also of Oakland, and Miss Zorka Daich, bridesmaids, wore hsts and carried bouquets of deep purple fall blooms. The mother of the bride tfhose Ivory lace with brown velvet trim and brown accessories and wore a corsage of tea roses. Mrs. Msy Peterson, mother of the bridegroom, bride-groom, wore a handsome model of rose Isce with black velvet acces sories and corsage of yellow roses. The best man for the bridegroom was Lewis Reeves snd the ushers Included Ed Allen, J. J. Roberts Jr., H. VsiGene Yorgaaon and George Smith. Little Bobby Lloyd was the ring-bearer ring-bearer and carried the ring on a white satin cushion. He was dressed all In white, as wss the flower girl, little Marian Millward, who carried a white basket of rose petals. Right after the ceremony, which was performed by the Venerable Archdeacon W. F. Bulkley, the bridal party went out to the Hyrum J. Jensen horns, 2730 Highland drive, to receive their friends at a wedding reception. During the evening the members of the Alpha Iota sorority, of which the bride Is a member, gathered In a circle and sang to the young couple. Serving at the reception were Mrs. Madge D. Coulam, Mrs. E. Rsndall Pack, Miss Betty Gordon, Miss Helen Love. Mrs. Harold S. Morr and Miss Iris E. Irons. Mrs. James R. Bettridge was In chsrge of the gift room, assisted by Mrs. Stuart Wallace and Mrs. Theo Smith. The couple left afterward for a honeymoon trip to the northwest and the Golden Gate International exposition In San Francisco and will later return to Salt Lake City to make their home. For traveling travel-ing the bride wore a dress of moss green crepe with a topcoat of gray tweed with fur -collar and black accessories. white roses and sprays of lily of the vslley. The attendants were all gowned alike In white taffeta with full skirts. Tiny buttons In the back |
