Show English Decorative Theme in Harris Home Makes It Most Charming . f Editor! note: Thl It the second In a trie of articles on Salt Lake home and their personalities, per-sonalities, appearing every other night in The Salt Lake Telegram. - . Br ANNE ELOISB SWEENEY Mrs. T. W. Harris, 69 T street, has always been partial to things English, so when it cam to arranging for the furnishings of her home she naturally turned to English period furniture . and materials for Inspiration. Her apartment is a charming one, with the dominant note cheerfulness and Uvabllity. Outstanding Out-standing is the real English print material that covers two big comfortable overstuffed chairs. The print is a floral one, the predominant col- ors being pink and blue. The drapes in the living room are of the same print. The large sofa Is a pale blue green and a dainty glass topped coffee table decked with gay flowers stands before it Against one wall is an English styled, knee hole desk and over it hangs a striking old English portrait of an officer in handsome red uniform with an old gold ornate frame. Little pots with English Ivy trailing down the wall are on one side of the desk and old English prints adorn the other walls. In the dining room, which is carpeted with the same mulberry colored carpet that Is lsued in the living room, Mrs. Harris chose rose colored col-ored drapes for the one large window, complete with Venetian blinds. The drapes are very attractive and easy to make. They're of one straight length of material, ma-terial, draped through rings at each side of the window top . and arranged in soft folds across the top of the window as a valance. Before she was married to the son of the R. T. Harrises of the Hotel Utah, Mrs. Harris was Miss Nancy Brayton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dean A. Brayton, 1324 Second avenue.
