Carnegie-Illinois Steel corporation, corpora-tion, U. S. Steel subsidiary, announced an-nounced th three furnaces would b placed In operation at th Du-quesn Du-quesn works, the Carrie furnaces in Rankin, Pa., and the Ohio works in Youngstown, bringing to 24 the number of furnaces now being used by th company. H. C Frick Coke company, "big steel's" coal producing subsidiary, placed all its 14 pits on a six-day schedule and ordered 2000 additional addi-tional roal dieeera back to work. It recently reopened six mines, giving work to 4000 miners. |
