Show Land Owners Ask Sidewalk Action 'SELF DEFENSE' THREAT HURLED AT SL BOARD Row Breaks Out Again Over Unfinished Street Project "Some action . In self-defense," unampllfled as to details, was the . threat hurled by an attorney representing rep-resenting South Salt Lake property prop-erty owners along Main street at the county commission Wednesday unless the latter moves soon to provide pro-vide sidewalks understood by the business men to be part of the Main street widening project south of Twenty-first South street Attorney Clarence M. Beck, rep resenting the business men, appeared ap-peared before the commission at the city and county building. He said property owners In the area were led to believe at the time they granted deeds for rights of way to widen the street that In-TUnatlonor""eoncTete-ldew11tI would be part of the project. Commissioners agreed that sidewalk side-walk construction was contingent on availability of state and federal funds to complete the project, undertaken un-dertaken wholly as a state-federal-county enterprise, and that such funds have been exhausted. Inactivity Inac-tivity on the project was also excused ex-cused by the commission on ground that one Important piece of the right of way had not been granted. In conclusion, the commission promised to replace, starting within with-in the next two weeks, all aide-walks aide-walks which have been removed preparatory to Installation of new sidewalks.
