Show Action on Plea of Hayes For Lite to Meet Delay Board of pardons action on the plea for the commuUtion of tht death sentence of George Hayes, M-year-old condemned alayer of Sherman W. Cadwell, aged Tooele county proipector, had been delayed Wednesday until at least Saturday. a robber. The burglary and grand larcray charges arose out of their entry Into a home after the officer's offi-cer's death. After completing a hearing on the commuUtion plea late Tuesday Tues-day afternoon, the board voted to meet again Saturday to consider the Hayes plea. The board devoted de-voted the rest of the Tuesday session ses-sion to action on some 80 other applications for clemency. , At this executive sssslon. the board granted 21 paroles, three terminations of sentence, denied 21 applications and continued three cases. - Among those granted paroles was Jsck Ellis, 23, who has served three years and nine months on a chargs of third degree burglary and grand larceny. The parole becomes effective ef-fective December . Ellis wss originally orig-inally charged with the murder of City Patrolman Joseph H. Quigley In Ogden.
