Show PARLEY IS HELD ON WAGE SCALE Utah mine operators Wednesday were considering wage adjustments asked by representatives of the International Union of Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers at a meeting held before State Industrial Commissioner Com-missioner O. F. McShane. Reid Robinson of Denver, president presi-dent of the union, asked the adjustments, ad-justments, to conform with an agreement signed by operators and the union last October, which provides pro-vides that when the price of silver reached or went above 64.64 cents an ounce wages would be adjusted accordingly. Passage of the recent silver bill by congress, boosting the price to 71.11 cents an ounce, brought about the request for the adjustment. James W. Wade, vice president and general manager of the Tintic Standard Mining company, headed the mine operators' delegation. After Mr. Robinson made his request the meeting adjourned until un-til Thursday morning. |
