Show COUNCIL AT SANDY REASSIGNS DUTIES SANDY S. E. McKean, city councilman, has been assigned duties du-ties formerly handled by the late E. Ray Beck, Mayor A. R. Gardner said Thursday. Mr. McKean will supervise construction con-struction of the new city sewer system, sys-tem, now under way, together with other problems of the street and water departments. A successor to Mr. Beck will be named at the November 17 session of the council, Mayor Gardner aaid. "Our new sewer system is working work-ing out better than we had expected." ex-pected." Mayor Gardner said. "The project will last at leaat six months, but progress made during the last vi t k has shown that at least half of the work will be completed before be-fore winter. The lower end had been completed between tha septic tanks and the Jordan river, a distance dis-tance of approximately 1700 feet." Laying of pipe on State street was completed Wednesday and crews vera backfilling the trenches Thursday, Mayor Gardner said. |
