Die referendum referen-dum vote of the Chicago Medical so-e'ety so-e'ety cn the question of the propr-sM amendment of the by-laws, so as to make Ineligible to membership physicians physi-cians engaged in contract practice, failed yesterday, because, of the rule providing that a referendum -vote shall not prevail unless -60 per cent of the' membership strength Is voting. Tfre majority of the votes cast, however, favored, the -amendment. According to the secretary report there are 1928 members ,ln the society, and 268 votes were registered in favor fa-vor of the anti-contract amendment, v hlle 201 votes were cast aiinsr its 8doptkn. . x. , .
