Show health and strength. The staff Is composed com-posed of thirty sisters of the Holy Cross, ten lay nurses (young ladles in training), and three orderlies. Located in ' the extreme : eastern part of Salt; Lake City, away from the noise of traffic, traf-fic, this hospital with Its neatly appointed ap-pointed apartments .and.-, homelike wards, offers every inducement to those requiring medical or surgical treatment. The building, heated by steam and lighted by electricity throughout, is an ideal one and the many kindnesses of the good sisters and the efficient treatment treat-ment by the able medical men, makes it a haven for the sick and wounded from all parts af the lntermountaln country.- ... - In 1902 the institution opened a training school for nurses. Is universally recognised as on of the most thoroughly thor-oughly . equipped and excellently conducted con-ducted Institutions of the kind In the country, fllnoe that - day thirty-one years ago. when its doors were thrown open to the sick and Injured, hosts of sufferers have obtained relief under the patient administrations of the Sisters of the Holy Cross and the able' corps of attending physicians and surgeons. During the year ending July L thirteen hundred patients were treated here, and of this number tha majority were of such a character as to require surgical surgi-cal attention. The following able phy - slclana and- surgeons constituta the corps of attending medical men: M. A. Hughes, H. E. Nile, F. Boot, J. Hosmer, H.-N. Mayo and B. W. Whitney. Whit-ney. During the past three years many Improvements have been made In the buildings and accommodations and at the present time the institution is recognized as being model In every sense of the word. The hospital draws its patients from the Salt- Lake, Los Angeles & San Pedro railroad, the Rio Grande Western and from all the mining mi-ning sections of the country. The institution insti-tution has accommodations for about one hundred and sevcaty-five patients, and Us widespread .-reputation -for effl-. effl-. clancy brings sufferers from -miles around.
