WESTERN PACIFIC WILL TOUCH WELLS Engineers of the new Western Pacific have solved the question of crossing the Pequop range In Nevada without Increasing Increas-ing the grade above the 1 per cent limit set by the engineering department. This range has heretofore been a thorn In the flesh of the Southern Pacific, a helper being be-ing necessary for all trains on that route. ; By crossing the Southern Pacific at ' Wells, the new Western Pacific will not I exceed their maximum of 1 per cent and the engineers promise a splendid line from Salt Luke to San Francisco. j i
