Show WARDENS ARREST 66 FOR GAM LAW VIOLATIONS FOR AUG. . ' :i. Sixty-six persons, a record number num-ber for any one month this year, were arrested during August by state game wardens on charges of violating fish and game iaws, the monthly report of the Utah Fish and Game department revealed. re-vealed. Total fines levied amounted to $2435, according to deputy war--den arrest reports. The highest fine, $200, was levied by an Ogden judge in a case involving illegal possession of game. Fourteen of the August arrests were for fishing with illegal bait with 12 persons being apprehended apprehend-ed for fishing after hours and exceeding ex-ceeding legal limits. Other arrests were as follows: Violation of proclamations, six; fishing or hunting without a license, li-cense, seven; fishing with illegal equipment, two; fishing in closed waters, four; carrying firearms on game preserves, two; possession posses-sion of illegal fish or game, seven; sev-en; shooting from roads or highways, high-ways, three; shooting at or killing kill-ing migratory birds out of season, sea-son, one; and miscellaneous, eight. |
