Show , v j 'FUNERAL HELD TUESDAY FOR MRS. IRENE COOK Funeral services were conducted conduct-ed Tuesday afternoon, in the Second Sec-ond ward chape! for Mrs. Irene Blanchard Cook, 71, who died Saturday, at her home, as a result of a heart attack several days before. be-fore. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery, directed by Berg Mortuary Mor-tuary of Provo. Mrs. Cook was born Nov. 23, 1874, in Springville, a daughter of Benjamin T. and Susannah All-man All-man Blanchard.' She received her education in public schools in Springville and later attended the old Brigham Young academy under un-der Dr. Karl G, Maeser. Upon completion of her education, she taught school in' Goshen and Springville. On Nov. 23, 1898 she was married mar-ried to Mark Cook in Springville. They made their home in this city until' Mr. Cook's death July 30, 1943. Mrs. Cook was active in all auxiliary organizations of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Latter-day Saints, particularly as a teacher in the Mutual Improvement Improve-ment Assn. and Primary organizations. organi-zations. When the Kolob LDS stake was organized in 1924, she became secretary of the stake Relief Re-lief Society organization and held that post for many years. She was also a member of Aaron Johnson post, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Surviving are a son and three daughters, Mark B. Cook, and Mrs. Lorin W. (Leah) Jones, Springville; Mrs. Howard S. (Martha) (Mar-tha) Whiting, Mapleton, and Mrs. Clarence (Louise) Beeton, Lewis-ton, Lewis-ton, Cache County; 10 grandchildren; grandchil-dren; two great-grandchildren; a brother and sister, John W. Blanchard Blan-chard and Mrs. Christie Deal, Springville. |
