Show 'RELIEF SOCIETY FURTHERS PLAN ON CITY CLEANUP Ward Chairman Named To Visit Each House; Improvement Expected Plans are going forward this week on the Relief Society sponsored spon-sored Clean-up, Paint-up and Burn-up campaign to be conducted conduct-ed in this city beginning now and continuing until spring when prizes will be awarded for the best job done. Mr. and Mrs. Theron S. Hall are offering a painting by Mrs. Bessie Gourley to the ward showing the most improvement, and Merrill Gottfredson, local nurseryman, will give a shrub as a prize. - The improvements will be divided di-vided into four groups, those done on barns, fences, other buildings and houses. For each type of improvement, im-provement, points will be given. For barn improvement, 50 points will be given for painting; 50 for tearing down and clearing up and 25 for repairs. In the fence improvements, ten points each will be given for removing, re-moving, improving and painting fences. Ten points each will also be given for improving, repairing, painting and removing other buildings. build-ings. In the house improvement division, di-vision, 20 points will be allowed for landscaping the front yard and the same for landscaping the back yard. From five to ten points will be given for planting lawns; 5 to 10 for shrubs; 3 to 10 for flowers; flow-ers; 10 points for curb and street improvement; 10 for cleaning ditch banks; 10 for improvement of vacant lots; 25 for painting house and 15 points for remodeling remodel-ing and improving outside of house. The purpose of the campaign is to improve the appearance of the city for the centennial year. In charge of the campaign in the various wards are: Mrs. Eugene Eu-gene Bird, First ward; Mrs. Ra-mola Ra-mola Norton and Mrs. Ella Miner, Second; Mrs. Cleonda Miner and Mrs. Grace Baker, Third; Mrs. Ethel Weight, Fourth; Mrs. Ellen Erdmann, Mrs. Helen Robbins, Fifth; Mrs. Nell Condie, Sixth. The stake Relief Society presidency presi-dency is directly in charge of the campaign. |
