LEGION AUXILIARY INSTALLS OFFICERS A the September meeting of the Legion auxiliary conducted last Wednesday evening at Memorial Mem-orial hall, new officers for the year were installed Mrs. Haydie Iverson of American Fork, newly elected district president, officiated offici-ated at the installation. Mrs. Florence Boyer was installed in-stalled president; Mrs. Julia Sum-sion Sum-sion and Mrs. LePreal Friel, vice-presidents; vice-presidents; Mrs. Lola Weight, secretary; sec-retary; Mrs. Vilate Reynolds, treasurer; Mrs. Emma Gardner, historian; Mrs. Helen Crandall and Mrs. Minnie Groesbeck, sergeants-at-arms; Mrs. Ellen Giles, chaplain. chap-lain. Preceding the installation, a short program was given and included in-cluded instrumetal music by Mrs. Eileen Bird, Mrs. Thora Johnson and Miss Coleen Lewis, accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Lloyd Bird. Visiting Visit-ing district officers, Mrs. Iverson and Mrs. Thelma Adamson of Pleasant Grove, and Mrs. Louise Card of Salem, spoke briefly. The early business meeting was in charge of Mrs. Emma Long, retiring re-tiring president, and also included includ-ed a financial report by Mrs. Manila Brown, retiring treasurer. Mrs. Long made the presentation of the unit gift in behalf of the retiring officers. Later in the evening, under direction di-rection of Mrs. Boyer, and other new officers, a social was conducted con-ducted to honor the retiring officers. of-ficers. A nicely arranged luncheon was served at one long table and during the meal presentation of comic gifts as well as pretty little lit-tle favors were made to each guest of honor by Mrs. Julia Sumsion and Mrs. Emma Gardner. In behalf be-half of the unit, Mrs. Manila Brown presented the retiring president pres-ident with the past president's pin. Mrs. Long responded with a short talk. The evening was concluded with cards with Mrs. Fern Lee winning high score prize for "500" and Mrs. Floss Phillips, in contract bridge. |
