Show 'PROGRAM SET FRIDAY FOR LDS MISSIONARY Ruel Ashcraft Will Go To East Central States From Fifth Ward A farewell testimonial will be conducted in the Second ward chapel Friday evening, at 8 p.m., in honor of Ruel Ashcraft, who leaves soon on a mission to the r v - " - - j. East Central states, representing the Fifth ward. All members of the ward and friends are invited to attend the farewell program. A son of Mrs. Abbie Ashcraft, the departing missionary was recently re-cently given a discharge from the army in which he served for some months in the South Pacific. The program Friday will open with congregational singing "Now Let Us Rejoice," with the opening open-ing prayer to be by Wilford Man-waring. Man-waring. The 51st Quorum of Seventies Sev-enties chorus will render two numbers. The speaker of the evening will be Wm. T. Tew, fomer president of the East Central mission. His talk will be followed by an instrumental in-strumental selection from a string ensemble composed of Mrs. Eileen Bird, Mrs. Thora Johnson and Miss Colleen Lewis, accompanied by Mrs. Loyd Bird. Remarks will be made by the departing missionary, by his brother bro-ther Loyd Ashcraft, and by Bishop J. Y. ( Bearnson. Mrs. Beth Lamb-' son will render a vocal solo. The closing prayer will be by Ernest Whiting. |
