Show BUILDING PERMITS IN COUNTY AREAS SHOWS INCREASE Total building permits issued in 1947 for unincorporated areas of Utah county increased 66 percent over the previous year, and total value of the permit construction jumped 58 percent over 1946. This was evident Saturday in a building permit report for unincorporated unincor-porated territory of the county outside the boundaries of established estab-lished cities and towns submitted from the county planning office. In 1947, a total of 140 permits were issued, against 84 for 1946. Value of the construction called for in the permits, based on 1940 prices, was set at $432,200 for 1947, compared with $272,550 for the previous year. Commercial and industrial con- struction nearly doubled in unincorporated unin-corporated areas, totaling $40,000 in the year just ended, compared to $22,000 for 1946. Remodeling and additions to homes went up better than five times, $35,850 as against $7,000 the year before. New residences went up substantially, substan-tially, $271,500 -as compared to a 1946 total of $206,800. Construction of garages, sheds, coops, dairy barns and buildings for .other agricultural uses more than doubled, $S4,850 from $36,-550. |
