Show AUTO ACCIDENT FATAL TO LOCAL WOMAN Services Held Wednesday For Mrs. Maude Peterson Who Passed Away Saturday The Springville Fourth ward chapel was filled Wednesday afternoon after-noon with relatives and friends who assembled to pay final tributes trib-utes of respect to. the life of Mrs. Maude Child Peterson, who died Saturday at the Payson hospital. Burial was in the Evergreen cemetery. ceme-tery. According to a report by attending at-tending physicians, death was due to pulmonary embolism induced by leg injuries resulting from an automobile auto-mobile accident. The accident occurred on December Decem-ber 8 at Payson, where Mrs. Peterson Peter-son had gone to visit a daughter. As she stepped from her car, another an-other automobile skidded on the ice and struck her. She was removed re-moved to the Payson hospital, where she was treated for shock and severe bruises, and later released. re-leased. After she returned' home, complications set in and she returned re-turned to the hospital. At the time of death she was believed to be improving. She was born Mirch 29, 1897, at Springville, a daughter of Thomas Edward and Emily Whiting Child, and had made her home here always. al-ways. For many years she had taken a prominent part in church . and civic affairs of Springville. She had served as a teacher in the Primary association, and as a counselor on the stake Y. W. M. I. A. board. She had also been active in Relief Soeiety work, serving as a teacher and in other capacities. At the time of death she was a counselor in Kolob stake Girls Leadership. In addition to her individual services, she had assisted her husband hus-band during the years he served as bishop of the Third ward and the First ward, and more recently as he serves in the stake presidency. presi-dency. She was affiliated . with the Mothers Study club and had served as president of the literary organization-She was married in the Salt Lake temple December 1, 1915.
