Show By Frances Ainsworth fTT I recently had the interesting experience ex-perience of "previewing" a Model Home! One of my good friends, Jim Blake a contractor invited me to see this home and to offer ideas on furnishings for it. Well, of course, I was thrilled to play a part in decorating this completely up - to - the - minute home . . . and, while going through it I learned some very helpful things about the new homes. As we went from room to room, Jim told me about the very new j features which made this particular particu-lar home outstanding. We all know that good plumbing is essential to good health and Jim told me that good plumbing calls for Red Brass pipe or Copper water tube which were employed for both hot and cold water lines in this Model Home. He explained that Red Brass pipe and Copper water tube give long service and deliver a full flow of rust free water for many years. Rust in a pipe discolors the water and reduces the rate of flow and, as Red Brass pipe and Copper Cop-per water tube do not rust and do resist corrosion, they are the most satisfactory Another aspect of this Model Home which interested me was the Radiant Heating system. Copper tube with soldered fittings was built into the floors of the Home, and through these steam is circulated circu-lated in order to heat the home. Jim told me that he always recommends recom-mends the use of Copper for heating heat-ing systems because its efficiency has been proved and, being rust free, naturally made the system more practical. Well, after learning about all these new features, 1 resolved to have Jim plan our new home for us .. . . and when we build in the Spring, all these ideas will be incorporated. in-corporated. For we all want to make sure that our home and the equipment in it is the most practical practi-cal and durable obtainable, don't we? |
