Show C. of C. Installs New Heads At Banquet Ezra T. Benson, Church Official Talks On European Conditions; Harrison Conover Takes On Duties As President Of Chamber Approximately 200 Chamber of Commerce members and guests attended the annual installation banquet and program, Wednesday evening at Memorial hall. Highlighting the occasion was the talk given by Ezra T. Benson, member of the Council of Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, who K-7 I '-'ii jatfMiB- m4 rtniiiTfc.-tfiiiBirrttWihM discussed in detail economic, political poli-tical and industrial conditions in Europe. Harrison Conover, manager of the Art City Publishing company, was installed president of the chamber, succeeding G. Lowry Anderson, who was in charge of arrangements for the installation, assisted by J. A. Miller, executive secretary. Other officers who took over their respective positions, include: Grant Thorn, vice - president; Charles Franks, H. T. Reynolds, W. G. Ruff, A. L. Thorpe, A. Y. Wheeler, members of the board of directors. A program of entertainment presented during the meeting included in-cluded piano selections by Miss Norma Brockbank. Dick Moody of the Brigham Young University, Provo, gave imitations, accompanied accompan-ied by LaMar Williams and Ray Andelin, also from the "Y." Bert Strong was toastmaster during the evening, and Paul M. Haymond, a past president of the chamber, acted as installing officer. |
