I Utah to Hold Memorial i Services at Tabernacle Wednesday. MOTH ERS, sisters or wives ot men who made the supreme-sacrifice supreme-sacrifice during the world war will represent them at the State of Utah memorial services to be held Wednesday evening at the tabernacle tab-ernacle at 8 o'clock. ntting tribute will be paid the living, liv-ing, honoring (he dead, by Chaplain B. H. Huberts. Already the various representatives of the counties are arriving, ar-riving, the lied Cross having chosen one for every county in the state. A feature yesterday was the registration regis-tration of four women representing counties of the slate which will take part in the memorial exercises. Miss Edythe Bates represents Uintah county, coun-ty, whose brother. Raymond S. Bates, died in France. Miss Anna Wade of Price represents Carbon county. Her brother, Robert L. Wade, was wounded in action. She also represents Guy Thomas of Carbon county, who was the fir-jt Vtah man to die in the service. Mrs. Kurt Browii of Woodruff, sister or David Leroy Dean, who died in the service, appeared for Rich county. Miss Florence Lyman of Salt LaUc and Miss Edith Tanner of Munroe, represent Salt Lake county. Miss Lyman is the sister of Grant H. Lyman, who was killed in France, fighting with the marines; ma-rines; Miss Tanner is the sister of Horace Ho-race R. Tanner, who was killed in action ac-tion while serving with the navy. A third Salt Laker will be chosen, and Mrs. Evans expects the sister of Raymond Ray-mond Crow, the first T"tah man who was killed in action in France, to represent rep-resent him. Mrs. Mary I. lpsen represents repre-sents her son, William AVallaee Tpsen. who was killed in France. Clarence Nelson, chairman of the service men 's celebration, says he expects ex-pects 10.000 men to attend, and added that ' the entertainnjnt will please everybody. |
