Show LARGE FORCE WORKS ON NEW HIGHWAY A SIT TON", Idaho, Oct. 6. Many miles of new roadway will be open to the traveler trav-eler to Yellowstone national park next j season if the trip is made through the j Yellowstone entrance and Targhee national na-tional forest. Construction of the new road across Bear gulch at Warm river has been started with a force of thirty-five men and forty teams. The road will replace the present grade from Warm river to the top of the Snake river divide, and will be 4.3 miles In length, approximately one-half mile shorter than the present road. The work Is under the supervision of a government crew and will be a 6 per cent grade the entire distance. Fifteen miles of excellent road has been constructed on the divide above Ashton through the Targhee national forest leading lead-ing to Yellowstone. It is expected the county will build a new dug way on the Ashton side o:" the Warm River canyon before travel begins next season. |
