Show SPRING VALLEY ORES YIELD GOOD ASSAYS Work on New Tunnel Progresses Satisfactorily; Satis-factorily; Promising Chutes Found. Samples from the ore sacked at the propertry of the Spring Valley Copper company were assayed yesterday and yielded values of 27. G per cent lead and six ounces silver. The ore was taken from some of the older workings of the property and about 300 sacks of it are now on the dump. It is reported that about fifteen feet of ore of this character char-acter has been opened up. Samples taken from a point thirty feet down in the shaft yielded assay values of 15.37 per cent copper, 2.64 ounces silver sil-ver and 1.5 per cent lead. The chute opened up in the shaft is about eighteen inches wide. Development work at the property is being confined, however, to driving a tunnel tun-nel which is expected to cut at depth some of the promising ore chutes already disclosed. Reports from the property yesterday indicated that the tunnel was in thirty feet and that work was progressing satisfactorily. The tunnel face is said to be heavily mineralized. |
