The Angels defeated the Oaks in a hard-fought ten-inning ten-inning game today, which was a pitchers' duel throughout between Bill Prough and Curly Brown. The Angels got away to a lead in the first, scoring a run on two infield hits and a sacrifice fly. The Oaks had a chance to tie It in the third, when Prough doubled to right. But when Lelfer dropped one in front of the plate, Proughs poor running allowed Pepe to put him out at third. For eight innings Brown goose-egged the Oaks, but in the ninth the visitors tied it up, one all, when Krause, pinch hitting for Lelfer. singled. Wares forced him, Boles to Terry. A. Arlett, batting for Hawks, fanned. Then Wares stole second and came home on Miller's single to left. The Angels won in the tenth by putting put-ting pjllis over the plate on three singles. sin-gles.
