Brindley and Colonel Danim, two expert aviation men from the Mi-Cook federal flying field here, met death at the Moraine City aviation field here today. The machine dropped 4000 feet whilo making a turn in the air. Major Brindley was recently named chief instructor of the American aerial forces and graduated under the Wright brothers here in 1910. lie was formerly an exhibition fiver. Both men were attached at-tached here to the McCook experimental field in this city. Two Aviators Are Killed. FORT WORTH, Tex., May 2. Falling Fall-ing 150 feet in a straight nose dive this morning, Lieutenant James S. Knnis, Jr., of New York City and Cadet Paul Herriott of Oakland, Gal., were killed. The accident happened at Hicks just an hour before General Grebte and staff of Camp Bowie arrived to witness some stunt flying. OAKLAND, Cal., May 2. Paul Herriott, Her-riott, killed today in an aviation accident acci-dent at Fort Worth, Tex., was one of a coterie of young men who in recent years attained high positions in the government of California and was welt known in nearly every city and town in the state. Ho was thirty-two years old, unmarried, and a graduate of the University Uni-versity of California of the class of 1908. In his short life Herriott was a bricklayer, brick-layer, cowpuncher, college student, newspaper reporter, member of the state board ot control and secretary to Senator Hiram W. Johnson. Herriott was born in St. Paul, Minn. His father, the Rev. 0. C. Herriott, a Presbyterian clergyman, was long a .prominent pastor there., OTTAWA, May 2. Brindley and Colonel Damm, Two Expert Aviators, Are Dead From Fall. V'vYASHINGTON, May 2. The casu-alt casu-alt v list today contained ninety-six names, divided as follows: Killed in action, 11; died of wounds, ; died of accident, 3; died of disease, 7; died other causes, 3: wounded, severely, se-verely, 7; wounded slightly, GO; missing miss-ing in action, 3. Scvcu officers were named. Lieutenant Lieuten-ant Clayton C. Ingersoll died as a result of an accident, Lieutenant August Leo Sundvall died from wounds, Lieutenaut John R. Feegel and Frederick B. Stokes were wonnded severely and Captain Frank J. Abbott and Lieutenants Will F. Lovett and Edward C. Swenson were wounded slightly. Captain Francis J. Cahill and Lieutenants Lieu-tenants Samuel Miller and Robert H. Jeffrey, previously reported missing, are now reported -to be prisoners. The list follows: KILLED IN ACTION.
