Show MI CLOSING IS DELAYED BY C01CIL Request of Federal Oil Administrator Ad-ministrator Is Laid on the Table. At the executive committee of the state council of defense, yesterday afternoon, W. F. Jensen, commissioner of commercial commer-cial economy, reported on his correspondence correspon-dence with the Pacific coast fuel and oil administrator with regard to' closing hours for gasoline distributing plants In Utah. The administrator has asked for the hours oT ti a. m. to 6 p. m. as business busi-ness hours. The Utah stores, however, cire observing the hours of 7 a. m. to 7 p. m. The matter was laid over for action ac-tion at some later date. In support of a campi.ign to be launched in behalt of the farm bureaus of the state for financial support from tic- li-ii'.slatui e and from county commissioners, commis-sioners, Dr. B. ' Peterson, president of the Utah Agricultural college, and chairman chair-man of the committee on crop production presented resolutions which received the Indorsement of the committee. These- resolutions follow: , "Whereas, the farm bureaus in the St&lS of Utah, tn OQ -Operation with the Utah Agricultural college and the United States department of agriculture, have rendered valuable service in stamping out contagious conta-gious animal diseases, in controlling plant diseases, and insect pests, and In destroying destroy-ing predatory animals and destructive rodents, thus saving hundreds of thousands thou-sands of dollars in human food; "Wherea-s, they have added extensively in co-operntlon with the food administration administra-tion and state council of defense in locating locat-ing and supplying such needed farm seeds and farm credit lo farmers; "Whereas, they have assisted materially In organization of drainage districts and redistribution of Irrigation water to Increase In-crease crop production; "Whereas, they have supported liberty lonn, Rd Cross, war savings Stamps Cind other drives connected with war work, and "Whereas. congress lias recognized t lies-' and the ma ny ot he r activities of t lie farm burea U and county agricuit Ural agents as of sufficient Importance during the war to make special approprla t ions for its Immediate extension to every agricultural ag-ricultural county in the United Slat.-s; therefore.
