A trench undergarment, un-dergarment, chemically treated as a preventive pre-ventive against vermin, has been approved ap-proved by the war department, and shipments ship-ments in quantity overseas ordered expedited. ex-pedited. The garments are treated in the laboratories at the state university at Iowa City, and were brought to the attention at-tention of Secretary Baker and other war department officials by Mrs. Charles- W. Eastman, widow of Professor Eastman of the university. Similar garments are in use by British and Canad ian troops.
