Show UNION'S PIPE IS CHOKED BY DEBRIS So srreat did the gas pressure become Tuesday afternoon at the No. t well of tlic Union Oil & Gas company near Farm-in&ton Farm-in&ton as to cause the fflling of the ten-inch ten-inch pipe for a distance of more than 100 feet with mud, shale, sand and other debris from the depths. The pipe was down a distance of 42S feet, when it was observed that the strata containing a considerable amount of water had been passed through and the next few feet were in a hard formation. The water ceased to come up and when the drill was pulled for the purpose of sending down another lenli of the ten-inch pipe the i pressure of gas became so heavy that the pipe above was choked for a distance ex- ; ceeding 100 feet with the mud and sand. All Tuesday niprht and all dav yesterday yester-day the drillers were at work with bailers bail-ers cleaning out the pipe. The gas continues con-tinues coming up in large volume between be-tween the twelve-inch pipe, which extends ex-tends down about 250 feet, and the ten-inch ten-inch pipe, which goes down to the bottom of the well. Drilling- will be resumed just as soon as the pipe can be bailed out. |
