Show MORE THAN MILLION TONS COAL INCREASE Wyoming Mine Inspectors Submit Fiscal Fis-cal Year Report to Governor Houx. Special to Tho Tribune. CUEYICNNK. Wyn., Jan. li. Wyoming coal mines during the state fiscal year recently ended produced s.7:S9.5I-i tons of coal, as compared wit h a production of 7.6:o;,. u tons during the preceding fiscal year, according to the annual reports of the state coal mine inspectors which have been received by Governor Houx. The increase in-crease in production during the last fis-ca fis-ca I year was 1,093.070 tons, representing .14.2 per cent.. At the present time the mines of the state, although handicapped . by a shortage of ears to handle their product, are producing heavily and it Is probable that the production for the current cur-rent fiscal year will exceed 10,000,000 tons. Of the production of the last fiscal year 6.047, 7 -lis tons came from the mines of the southern district, comprising the count ies of Lincoln. Sweetwater, TTinta and Carbon, and 2.7-11,766 came from the mines of tho northern district, comprising the remaining coal producing counties of t lie state. The number of men employed in the YV) oniing coal mining industry during the last fiscal year was 737::. For each man employed 1192 tons of coal wh,s produced. In i he operation of the mines there occurred oc-curred forty-three fatal accidents and 245 nonfatal accidents. There was but one fatal accident associated with the mining of eaeli 204. -107 tons of coal, (There was one nonfatal accident for each 34,633 tons mined. |
