Show NEW YORK Y. M. C. A. BEGINS BIG DRIVE Letter From President Wilson Is Read at Mass Meeting to Inaugurate Campaign. NEW YORK, Jan. 6. Appreciation of the welfare work of the Y. M. C. A. war work council was expressed in a letter from President Wilson read tonight at a mass meeting to Inaugurate a drive for $1,750,000 in this city with which to extend ex-tend the council's work. The letter, addressed ad-dressed to Mrs. .Tames f'uL-hman, chairman chair-man of the council, tollows: "May I not express to you the admiration admira-tion which I, in common with the great body of my fellow counirymen, have ic-it for the work of the Y. M. C. A. 7 It has responded in this time of need in the most admirable way to the claims i;pon its patriotic services, and I wish to give myself the pleasure of expressing my appreciation ap-preciation and the high value I put upon i t s work."
