BARREEAU ID IRISH ARE BEMFDH FMY Welters Promise to Give Manhattan Clubbers a Classy Bout. j Frank Barrieau, welterweight champion cham-pion of Canada, has put in a hard week conditioning himself for the six-round battle with Kid Jrish, which will be the headliner of the Christmas card of the Manhattan club tomorrow night at the Grand theater. This clash, promises to be a battlo of more than ordinary class. Barrieuu has a splendid record in. the cast and in Canada and is a coming young athlete. He is eager to plant himself solidly in the west, and is not taking any chances with Kid Irish by going into the ring Monday night unprepared. un-prepared. Irish is well known to all local fight fans, having started his career here and developed into one of the cleverest bat-tlnrs bat-tlnrs of local origin. He has fought many brilliant battles in this city and on the Pacific coast. Ho is now o c -pupied in raising hogs for the market, and left his ranch to spend the holidays in Salt Lake. He is in good shape and has been showing speed and stiff punches in training quarters. The other six-round affair for tomorrow to-morrow night is between Bob Moore, a local kingpin, and Swede Johnson, a rough miller. This battle should furnish fur-nish plenty of excitement, as both boys are fond of standing up and exchanging wallops. Moore has sprung into the limelight in a hurry this season, and can take on about any boy his weight in the Manhattan list. He has done most of his shining in the four-round battles, but his friends believe he will be even stronger in tho longer affair. Johnson is one of the cleverest and toughest opponents op-ponents Bob has had to face, and. a terrific ter-rific battle is promised. Kid Davis will make his initial bow of the winter to defend his featherweight feather-weight title against Joe Manes, a clever lad from the Pacific coast. This should be a whirlwind affair, as both boys are clever, experienced and with ability to put on the sleep producer. Davis has been known in fighting circles here for several years, and is one of the fastest featherweights of the jn-terinountain jn-terinountain region. He has never been ( defeated for hia crown, and will defend it against all comers while here. Kid Dutch and Battling Olson will tangle in a quartette of tilts. Both are fierce millers, with haymakers aplenty. Neither one loses much" time unwinding his wallop and a lively battle should be the outcome of this match. Frenchy Boyd, who has been putting in. some lively weeks training to regain re-gain his old-time form, now believes he is ready to win back his lost laurels. lau-rels.
