Show SILT LIKE SHOOTERS PMEFOK SEASON Many New Members Will Be Added to Club Rolls; Practice Starts. Tho Salt Lake Revolver and Eifle cluh is making preparations for the ia-terelub ia-terelub civilian rifle matches held an-miallv an-miallv under the. supervision of the National Kiflo Association of America, and from all indications Salt Lake will lie well represented. At tho present time there are sixty members, and efforts will be made to add many more to the club s rolls. There are many crack shooterb in Salt Lake who arc" not members, and thoy would be welcome additions. It is the intention of tho local club to form as many teams as possible, each team to consist of ten men. Tho scores of the high five of each team will bo sent to the association headquarters. A city may enter ns many teams as it de- sires. Utah was well represented in class B last year. Ocden won the title and Salt Lake ranked fourth. Entries for the national competition must be filed before January 15, and the association matches start January Janu-ary 27. An added inducement to shooters to join the club is offered in the annual ! shoot under the supervision of the national na-tional board for promotion of rifle practice prac-tice and under sanction of the war department. de-partment. Each year fifteen men are selected to compete for Salt Lake, and their expenses are paid to the big meet, which was held in Jacksonville, Fla., this year and, in all probability, will- ba held there again in 1917. The club's range is at 21 East Seeom South street, and practices are held Tuesday and Friday of each week. Visitors Vis-itors are invited to attend as well as prospective members. |
