Failed today from Port Chalmers tor the Antarctic on hoard hi? auxiliary ship, the Aurora, iu an effort to rescue the members of I his Antarctic expedition marooned near the Koss barrier. There are ten men in the party which the explorer will attempt to roach. Captain Cap-tain Mackintosh and nine of the crew of the Aurora. They had only a scanty supply of provisions pro-visions when tho Aurora broke a way in a blbzard twenty-one months aero, leaving leav-ing them stranded, and nothing has been heard from them since.
