SCRIPPS-EOOTH CAR MAKES FAST TIME Stock Car Up to Speed of 63 Miles Per Hour on Sheepshead Bay Speedway. That the Scripps-Booth car is possessed pos-sessed of real speed was proved a few days ago on the Sheepshead Bav speedway, speed-way, when a stock four-cylinder car, partially stripped, covered the distance around the track at the rate of 63 miles per hour. The car was driven by "William R. M. Very, sales manager of "the Isotta Fran-chini Fran-chini Motor company of New York, and was witnessed by a number of motor enthusiasts. No changes were made in the car for the time trial, aud it was made on 30 by 3V-! tiros. The result of the test has caused considerable con-siderable comment iu New York. The closed models of Scripps-Booth cars are meeting with much popular favor fa-vor this fall. The eight-cylinder closed car has been particularly well received, and the coupe on the four-cylinder chassis chas-sis has repeated its success of last year. The open models with winter tops have also won a place for themselves among those who want the open car for warm weather driving and still wish protection from the elements in the cold season.
