Show I DESTROY SIGHS OF CULMERS Manager W. F. Culmer Offers Of-fers Liberal Reward for , Conviction of Guilty. One of the meanest petty acts imaginable came to light " last week when it was found that someone had made a practice of tearing off and destroying de-stroying numerous fence signs advertising adver-tising "Cresta" and " K-z-run " motor oil. so well and favorably known. The mischief was not. confined to any one nection, as signs h11 over the city and suburbs were ruthlessly torn down, proving, that Borneo no had worked systematically to show his spite against the Culmer company. n speaking of the occurrence Mr. Culmer said: It Ib unspeakable to cast suspicion sus-picion on any of our real competitors, com-petitors, as I know them all personally, per-sonally, and there is not a man of them who would stoop to such a thing, and X know they will deprecate dep-recate the outrage fully as much as we do. While competition is and has been keen among the various big oil concerns, there has never been any underhand work, and the fight j had always been friendly and square oven when hottest, and 1 j am convinced that it is the work I of some petty person who iruag-! iruag-! ined we were taking .business away from him because of the ! enormous sale we are haying for i the various Culco oils. i I stand ready to pay a reward i of $.)( for the arrest and conviction convic-tion of thd miscreant, and have taken-steps to apprehend him and prevent further destruction of our advertising matter. I would as soon think that one of our own men did it as to intimate inti-mate that it was the work of any real competitor; they fight in the open. I hope soon to be able to pay the reward offered and expos the guilty person. |
