Davis, a former molormun In tlio employ of the Utah Llqht & Railway company, who became violently Insane at the ralmer house Sunday afternoon, Is In a serious condition at tho county Jull and will probably be committed to the State Mental hospital loday. For awhile Monday. Davis's condition was greatly Improved, and It was believed be-lieved that tho attack of Insanity was only temporary and that he would regain re-gain his normal condition before long. Toward evening Davis was seized with an attack more violent than the first and It required no little effort on tho part of tho officers at the county Jail 10 quiet him. The insanity commission will visit the Jail at 0 o'clock this morning nud make an examination. Davis became Insane Sunday after being told of the death of Mrs. Eleanor Berryman. who was killed Saturday evening by 11 .South Temple street car. About five years ago Davis s car collided with a. car being operated by "Waller Farrell. resulting Iu the letter's let-ter's death. Farrell bad been a lifelong life-long friend of Davis, and bis death resulted re-sulted In tlio partial derangement of Davis's mind. Shortly after midnight Davis attempted attempt-ed to choke himself in his cell at tho countv kill with a bedding blanket. Deputy Sheriff Johnson discovered him. however, before he siiccoc.dod. and from that time on a close watch was maintained main-tained over tho insane man. Davis has completely lost Ills mind and did not know Ills oldest friends Monday Mon-day night. Deputy Sheriff Johnson baa known Davis for more than twenty years, but he was not recognized by him last night. . |
