Show KAYSVILLE NEWS 1 Special to The Tribune. KAYSVILLE. Jan. 24. At tho session held Monday the county commissioners ordered the county assessor to make an Increase of $10 per acre on all first-class land In the north end of Davis county for the year 1910. Tho state board of equalization hnd sent tho commissioners a communication suggesting that as tho value of real estate In the north end of the county was rapidly increasing, that the assessed valuation should also be Increased. In-creased. After carefully considering the matter, tho commissioners ordered tho assessor to make the above-mentioned raiso. County Assessor J. T. Burnett has appointed the following deputy assessors for 1910, which wero confirmed by the county commissioners Monday; George R. Bennett. Joseph Ford. Ezra F. Richards. Rich-ards. Frank L. Sheffield and Thomas Waddoups. Their compensation was fixed at 52 R0 per day of eight hours for actual services performed. There appears lo be an cpldemlo of pneumonia In Kaysvlllo at the presont time. A number of small children are seriously 111 with the disease. About fifteen Tellurldo men pitched their tents near Farmlngton Monday and soon after two of them developed cases of smallpox and wore quarantined, One of the men has a severe cose. The Davis County Independent Telephone Tele-phone company Is now negotiating with Simon Bamberger for the use of his tolo-phone tolo-phone line Into Salt Lako and Ogden for long distance work. It Is probable that Mr. Bamberger will handle the long distance work from his offices In thoso cities, although not all of the details have been worked out yet. It Is estimated esti-mated that the homo company Is now saving the people of the county ench month from 51000 to S2000 In tho way of reduction of telephone rentals. The following were recently mado directors di-rectors In the Davis County Light & Power company: Lambert Blamlres, WIl-'llam WIl-'llam I- Layton and Daniel Bodily. Mr. Blamlres was chosen president of tho board. The compnny Is now negotiating with the Davis County Independent Telephone Tel-ephone company for the latter to transmit trans-mit electrical energy over Its system pf polo lines to the users of the same In dirforenl parts of the county. It Is also likely that, tho home company will furnish fur-nish the brickyards and mills In the county with power during this year. |
