Show I OLDEST NEWSPAPER I' ' CARRIER IN UTAH DEAD v ,i ' I i Thomas FJemmlng. for many years one I of the. best known residents of this city, I and the oldest newspaper carrier HI I" Utah", died at 7M5 o'clock Monday cven-? cven-? Ing of paralysis of Iho stomach, aggravated aggra-vated by old age. Mr. Flcmmlng was 70 years old and was a native of England, ' having been born In "London, May IS, IS 10. ' In 1S50 Mr. Flcmmlng was converted i ' to the Mormon faith and cightcon years later arrived in Salt Lake City, whom i lie resided ever since except for several , short periods that he served on missions I for the Mormon church. , Mr. Flemmlng went to work as a car-1 car-1 rier for the old Salt Lake Herald In 1S70. Lator he became connected with the eir- dilation department of The Salt Lake ' i Tribune, by which paper he was cm-' cm-' ployed for many years. A few years ago. he went to work on tho Desyrel Evening Xews as a carrier and ho held that position until the end. Mr. Flemmlng Is survived by two sons, Ernest Arthur and Alfred Flem-? Flem-? mln'g. They are employed by the Z. C. I M. I. and the Salt Lake Hardware com-" com-" , pany. respectively. No arrangements for ' the funeral have been made. |
