Show PROVING INCREASE IN COST OF FOODSTUFFS DENVER, Jan. 24. Figures compiled by officers of the Colorado Stato Federation of Labor show that tho price of foodstuffs food-stuffs has Incroased from 100 to 150 per cent during the last few years. Denver, El Paso. Pubelo and Montroso counties wero picked for the most elaborate elab-orate compilations, and out of 53 artlclos on which ilgures wero obtained, only sov-en sov-en showed a decrcaso ln price. These were flour, molasses, potatoes, mackerel, oatmeal, prunes and nut coal. Even these articles do not show a decrease de-crease In all of the counties. In Denver county, for instance, syrup shows an increase in-crease of 92 per cent; smoked beof. '66 per cent; breast of mutton. 100 per cent, salt pork, S3 per cent; butter. 100 per cent; lard. 11S per cent; eggs, 92 per cent: oatmeal. 150 per cent, and prunes, 60 per cent. |
