Show FOUND GUILTY OF SALE OF LIQUOR TO MINORS Special lo The Tribune. AMERICAN FORK. Jan. 24. Thcodoro Nlcholes today was found guilty by a jury of violating the city's liquor ordinances or-dinances In selling liquor to a minor. Yern Larson. Wednesday, January 12. but passing of sentence was postponed until i! o'clock Wednesday evening. It Is likely that Nlcholes will appeal. The city was represented by Judgo J. W. N. Whltecotton of Provo and Abel John Evans of Lehl. while the defendant was represented by J, M. Hamilton of Salt. Lake City. The Jurors were J. W. Ovard. foreman, W. A. Robinson, J. W. W;ilkor and Vergil Groo. It took two hours to roach a verdict. The interesting part of tho case was young Larson's testimony to the effect that he ordered Nlcholes lo glvo him root beer nnd thai ho didn't know but ho i supposed that Nlcholes gave him beer, this being testimony given In tho face of tho lad's early affidavit that Nlcholes sold him whisky. Nlcholes, It Is alleged, sold tho whisky under a merchant's soft drink license. Tho final termination of tho case will be awaited with Interest on account of the prohibition wave awcepng this ncgh-borhood. |
