Upon tiie occasion of his retirement from the active, management of tho affairs af-fairs qf tho Boston Clnsolldatcd Mining company, ; Lufayotto IJanchctt was on Monday at' noon presented with an unusually un-usually hands,omo and heavy solid silver service set of six plocos, by tho employees em-ployees of the company's mlno. mill and office, Mr. Hnnchctt has been at tho head of Boston Consolidated nffalrs for six years past and In that time ho has becomo endeared espocially to those who have been associated with him In his work and all in fact with whom ho has become acquainted. Mr. Hnnchctt leaves In a few days for a tour of tho world lo be absent ono year, and prior to his rioparture his employees ns n. token of the esteem In which they hold him, made the presentation ns abo'o slated. Tho service is beautifully engraved with the Hnnchctt monogram, and on tho reverse side of the sorvlco tray Is the Inscription: "Presented to Lafayette Lafay-ette JInnriiott, general manager Boston Consolidated Mining company, July 1, 1904, February 1. 1910. by the employoes of the mine, mill and office. 'A friend Is worth all tho hazards wo can run.' " Tho service In an elegant specimen of the silversmith's art. is durable and practical, and needless to say Is deeply appreciated by Mr. Hanchctt. who has a keen realization of the living motives which prompted the beautiful romem-brancc. romem-brancc.
