Show AUTO CRUSHES TWO ON ELK RIVER ROAD STEAMBOAT SPRINGS. Colo.. Aug. 15. Elmer. Suttlc was crushed beneath an automobile that bad been going at tho rate of flftv miles an hour last night on the Elk river road, eighteen miles cast of here, and died at noon today. Charles Whl taker, who had three ribs broken, is believed tobe fatally hurt, as one of the fractured rlbfi punctured his lungs. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Whltakcr of Ottawa, Kan., were seriously Injured. The party had been on a fishing trip, and In an effort to pass a buggy loaded with women without diminishing speed, the automobile struck an embankment and turned over twice, pinning the occupants occu-pants under it when it finally stopped. None of tho occupants of the buggy was Injured. |
